The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a violent home invasion robbery in Saratoga that hospitalized a 96-year-old man and his 64-year-old daughter Friday. The robbery was reported at about 9:30 a.m. Friday in the 20000 block of Wardell Road. A groundskeeper who works for the victims flagged down a sheriff’s deputy, who entered the residence to find the two victims suffering from severe head and face injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital. The 64-year-old woman has been treated for her injuries and released. Her 96-year-old father underwent surgery and remained hospitalized today, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators believe two male suspects entered the home at about 11 p.m. Thursday through unsecured doors and brutally attacked both victims with their hands and fists while demanding valuables, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspects took an unknown amount of items before leaving the residence. They had their faces covered during the robbery, and were seen carrying flashlights. The sheriff’s office is asking all residents in the area to be more cautious and keep their doors locked at all times.
