Authorities today are searching for a 9-year-old boy and 3-month-old girl believed to have been abducted from San Jose on Tuesday. The children, Francisco Arias Jr. and Ashley Arias, were allegedly taken by their parents, who are not their legal guardians, police said. Police believe they could be in danger and a statewide alert has been issued about the abduction. Francisco Arias Jr. is Hispanic, about 3 feet tall and weighs 65 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Ashley Arias is 21 inches tall and weighs 9 pounds. She also has black hair and brown eyes. Their father, Francisco Arias, 42, is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has black hair and dark eyes, and sometimes goes by the name Antonio Arellano, police said. He has “Francisco” tattooed on his stomach. Their mother, 38-year-old Estella Arias, is 5 feet 2 inches tall and 130 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She is known to sometimes use the name Estella Zamora, and has a tattoo of a flower on her left leg, police said. They were last seen driving a red Ford Expedition with license plate No. 5FDA933. Anyone who sees the suspects or children is asked to call the San Jose Police Department at (408) 277-8900.
