* Cesar Ceja Was Arrested By Union City Police For Vandalizing Cars And Threatening Officers

A 19-year-old Hayward man was arrested on several felony charges after he allegedly vandalized multiple vehicles late Thursday night in Union City, according to police. Cesar Ceja is being held at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $75,000 bail and is tentatively scheduled to be arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court in Fremont at 2 p.m. on Monday.Union City police said officers responded to the area of Mission Boulevard near May Road at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a suspicious person tampering with parked vehicles.Officers discovered that five parked cars had been vandalized, according to police. Some of the vehicles had their windshields smashed and others had fresh black spray paint on their exteriors.In addition, at least one vehicle had damage indicating that a person had been jumping on its hood, police said. While they were at the scene, officers noticed a vehicle driving recklessly in the area, stopped the vehicle and arrested Ceja, who was the driver and the sole occupant, police said.The arresting officers noticed that Ceja had fresh spray paint on his hands and other evidence that linked him to the vehicles that had been vandalized, according to police.He was arrested for a felony charge of threatening police officers, five counts of felony vandalism, reckless driving and driving under the influence, police said.
