A Fremont man was arrested in Benicia on Thursday evening after allegedly leading California Highway Patrol officers from four different areas on a high-speed chase across the state on his motorcycle. Pedro Alberto Sermeno, 26, was first seen driving northeast of Sacramento near the Nevada border at speeds of more than 100 mph, according to the CHP.CHP officers from Truckee, Calif., tried to pull him over, but he accelerated away, the CHP said. Units from Gold Run, Calif.,; northern Sacramento; Woodland, Calif.; and Solano County all pursued Sermeno as he drove southwest across the state, according to the CHP.As Sermeno entered the Solano area, a CHP helicopter from Napa located him and followed him to Turner Road in Benicia, about 160 miles from Truckee. He was arrested there at about 4:45 p.m. withoutincident and booked in the Solano County jail for reckless evading, the CHP said. It’s unclear why Sermeno refused to stop, according to the CHP. He had a valid license and no outstanding warrants, and DUI did not appear to be a factor.
