A 37-year-old Marina man who allegedly robbed a Salinas market at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon was arrested Thursday, according to police.Alejo Alegre was arrested for the robbery, which occurred at about 4:40 p.m. Friday at the 127 Market, located at North Sanborn Road near Garner Avenue, Salinas police said.Alegre and another suspect allegedly entered the market, robbed the store at gunpoint, and fired a shot at the ceiling before fleeing to a waiting sport utility vehicle, according to police. No one was injured during the robbery. Following the robbery, Salinas police broadcast information about the robbery to other Monterey County law enforcement agencies, and on Thursday morning, Marina police officers spotted the suspect vehicle in the 100 block of Brookside Court in Marina.Members of the Salinas and Marina police departments and the
Monterey County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest of Alegre and another suspect. The second suspect was later released, police said. A third suspect is still believed to be outstanding as well, according to police.
