Hillsborough police are reminding residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock car doors in light of five auto burglaries within a recent 24-hour period. The crimes happened between 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday. Thefts were reported in the 100 and 200 blocks of Bridge Road, on Glenbrook Drive and Brooke Court, and in the 900 block of Parrott Drive, police said. Two of the cars that were burglarized were unlocked, but the other three had their windows smashed, police said. The suspect vehicle is possibly a white, early 1980s American-made van, described as “beat-up looking,” according to police.Anyone who notices suspicious activity is asked to call the Hillsborough Police Department at (650) 375-7470.
