An 18-year-old man was arrested after walking out of a Richmond movie theater Monday night on suspicion of fatally shooting an Oakland man on his 24th birthday, Oakland police said today.The shooting happened shortly before 11 p.m. Friday in the 8700 block of MacArthur Boulevard near Castlemont High School in Oakland. Responding officers found Alvin Ray Burns Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to Highland Hospital where he died the following night, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said. Thomason said investigators learned the suspect, Ronald Thomas of Oakland, was at the Hilltop Movie Theater in Richmond at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. With the assistance of Richmond police, Oakland officers surrounded the building and spotted Thomas walking out of the movie complex. He was arrested following a brief foot pursuit, Thomason said.
