* Alvin Ray Burns Shot and Killed on His Birthday on MacArthur Blvd. Oakland

An Oakland man who was shot on his 24th birthday Friday night died at a hospital Saturday, the Alameda County coroner’s bureau reported today.Officers responded to the 8700 block of MacArthur Boulevard near Castlemont High School just before 11 p.m. Friday and found Alvin Ray Burns Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.Burns was transported to Highland Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, according to the coroner’s bureau. Suspect information was not available.
