A man suffered a gunshot wound to his knee in an apparent drive-by shooting in East Palo Alto tonight, police said.Officers went to the 2500 block of Hazelwood Way at about 7:20 p.m. after the Police Department’s Shotspotter system notified them of gunshots in the area. A caller also alerted police of a shooting victim in front of a home on the block, police said.Arriving officers found a 51-year-old man who had been shot in his left knee and took him to a local hospital to be treated for the injury, which did not appear to be life-threatening, police said. The victim told police he was leaving his home to go to a store when a green two-door car passed him, came to a stop and an occupant fired multiple shots from the vehicle’s window.Detective John Norden said tonight’s shooting may be connected to  other shootings in the city, but would not provide additional information, saying it would jeopardize the investigation.Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Norden at (650) 853-3177 or the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (650) 853-8477.
