Two East Palo Alto men were injured in a shooting in the city this evening, police said. Officers went to the 2100 block of Lincoln Street at about 5:50 p.m. on reports of the shooting and found a 35-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head sitting in the front seat of a parked car, police said. A 28-year-old man who was shot in the upper part of his body was located in the front yard of a home. Both victims were taken to a local hospital, where the 35-year-old victim is in “grave condition,” police said. The other man is in stable condition and expected to survive. A preliminary investigation indicates a male suspect in dark clothing approached the victims who were in a parked vehicle in a driveway at 2142 Lincoln St. and fired multiple shots, police said. The motive in the shooting is under investigation. Shortly after the initial shooting, the Police Department’s Shot Spotter system also brought officers nearby, to Lincoln and Green streets, where multiple shell casings were located. Police said it was not immediately clear whether the two crime scenes were connected. Copyright © 2009 by Bay City News, Inc.
