At least two people were hospitalized after an attempted traffic stop led to a brief chase that started in Campbell and ended with a crash in Los Gatos tonight, according to a Santa Clara County sheriff’s sergeant. The chase began at about 9 p.m. when a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle that had committed a violation near the intersection of West Sunnyoaks and Virginia avenues, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sung. The driver of the vehicle fled, and a few minutes later, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of South Winchester Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, Sung said. The suspect vehicle was occupied by a man and woman, and the vehicle was owned by the woman, who had a $5,000 warrant out for her arrest on a drug-related offense, according to Sung. Investigators are still trying to determine who was driving the suspect vehicle, he said. Arriving emergency crews transported both suspects to a local hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, Sung said. He did not know if anyone in the other vehicle involved in the crash was injured.
