Santa Rosa police arrested a man Thursday for the attempted stabbing murder of a San Francisco resident at an apartment complex six months ago.Ignacio Kick, 25, is suspected of stabbing Geno Cairo, 21, of San Francisco, in the abdomen with a large butcher knife at the Monte Vista Apartments in the 1500 block of Range Avenue in Santa Rosa on April 5, Sgt. Ray Navarro said. Police responded to reports of gunfire and a fight at the apartment complex around 4 a.m. They found Cairo, who was visiting a relative, in front of the apartment complex. Cairo had emergency surgery at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and survived.Kick, a resident of the apartment complex, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and gang enhancements but the case against him was dismissed due to lack of evidence, Navarro said. Police obtained a no bail arrest warrant for Kick on Tuesday after they developed additional evidence. Detectives from the Sonoma County gang enforcement team saw Kick in the area of the county administration complex Thursday and arrested him on the outstanding warrant, Navarro said. Kick was booked into the Sonoma County Jail under no bail for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and a gang enhancement.
