* Cars Set On Fire In Costra County

Fire officials are investigating a series of vehicle fires that torched as many as six vehicles this morning in Contra Costa County.Investigators from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District are looking into four separate vehicle fires that appear to have been deliberately set, a district dispatcher said, and the Richmond Fire Department is investigating at least two more.At around 2:50 a.m., Richmond fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire reported at 3535 El Portal Road at San Pablo Dam Road, the dispatcher said.About half an hour later, Contra Costa County units responded to a reported fire at 4150 San Pablo Dam Road at around 3:30 a.m., the dispatcher said. Two vehicles were ablaze at this location.Another call was placed at around 4:20 a.m. for fire district units to be dispatched to 4410 San Pablo Dam Road, just east of the first two locations. One vehicle was damaged by fire at this location, according to county dispatch.At around 4:45 a.m., county firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on San Pablo Dam Road at May Road, the dispatcher said, again just east of the prior car fires.Richmond fire was dispatched to yet another vehicle fire at around 5:10 a.m. at 2976 De Anza Drive, north of San Pablo Dam Drive.No injuries have been reported in relation to the incidences.Investigators have not confirmed if the car fires are related and further information was not immediately available.
