* Gilroy Possible Gang Shooting Southgate Court Near Church Street, 17-Year-Old Wounded

Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in Gilroy late Tuesday night.At about 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Southgate Court near Church Street.They arrived to find evidence that a shooting had occurred but those involved had left the area, police said. An investigation revealed that a 17-year-old boy had been injured in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting, police said. The victim was taken by private automobile to a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. He was expected to survive. Police are investigating the shooting as gang-related, though a suspect has not been identified.Anyone with information is asked to call Gilroy police at (408) 846-0350.
