Concord police arrested three 16-year-old boys for evading arrest and possession of a deadly weapon Saturday night after a brief chase in the city ended when the suspects’ vehicle crashed into a building, a police lieutenant said Sunday. The pursuit began at 11:52 p.m. on Monument Boulevard when an officer tried to pull over a 2001 Jaguar for a traffic stop because the vehicle did not have a license plate, according to Concord police Lt. Darrell Graham. The vehicle did not stop and turned onto Detroit Avenue, Graham said. The driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into a building located at 950 Detroit Ave., according to Graham. The three teens inside the vehicle, two 16-year-old boys from Oakland and a third from Richmond, were arrested. The driver was in possession of a semiautomatic pistol, while a passenger had a sawed-off shotgun, Graham said.
