A 22-year-old man was arrested this afternoon in connection with a September crash that killed his mother and seriously injured his brother south of Santa Rosa in unincorporated Sonoma County, according the California Highway Patrol.Ryan Crowder, 22, of Rohnert Park was arrested at about 4 p.m. today on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, causing death or injury and vehicular manslaughter in connection with the Sept. 10 crash. Crowder was allegedly driving a 1996 Toyota Sienna on Stony Point Road at about 11:50 a.m. on Sept. 10 when he crashed head-on with a minivan.Crowder’s mother, 42-year-old Alma Louise Crowder, died as a result of the collision and his brother Jesse Crowder was seriously injured.The driver of the minivan, a 58-year-old Santa Rosa woman, also suffered major injuries, according to the CHP. Her 5-year-old grandson, who was in a car seat in the back of the van wasn’t seriously injured.Crowder was to be booked into the Sonoma County jail tonight and is scheduled to be arraigned later this week.
