Cotati police said a woman was sexually assaulted in her home in the “L” section of town early Wednesday morning.  The sleeping woman was home alone around 2:40 a.m. when the tall, thin, white male entered her home through a window that had been locked in the front of the house, Sgt. Dennis Wallach said. The woman was sexually battered and raped and was treated at a local hospital and released, Wallach said. The suspect told the woman he was armed but she did not see a gun, Wallach said.  The suspect, wearing black clothing, a ski mask over his face and black gloves, ran from the residence after the assault, Wallach said.  Police searched the area and sent a flyer to other law enforcement agencies asking for information about any similar sexual assaults, Wallach said.   Police are reminding residents to secure their homes and be aware of their surroundings at all times, Wallach said.  Please call the Fugitive Watch hot line at 1-800-9-CAUGHT (1-800-922-8448) or text at 408-355-0999 if you know the name of this man or have any information that can help solve this crime.
