* Brandi Hanley Pleads Not Guilty In Crash That Killed 5-Year-Old Addison Branson

A Rohnert Park woman pleaded not guilty this morning in Sonoma County Superior Court to vehicular manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed a 5-year-old boy in April.Brandi Hanley, 32, will return to court Oct. 22 for a settlement conference requested by Deputy District Attorney Craig Brooks.Hanley was driving a Ford Explorer east on Guerneville Road at about 5:30 p.m. on April 28 when she struck a Toyota Matrix and a Toyota Celica from behind. The cars were stopped for a red light at the intersection of Guerneville and Marlow roads in west Santa Rosa.The impact pushed the Matrix into a utility pole at the intersection. Addison Branson, 5, of Santa Rosa, who was sitting in the back seat of the Matrix, suffered lethal injuries and was pronounced dead at about 6 p.m.Hanley was treated for her injuries at a local hospital and was released. She was later arrested and is charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
