* Apple Store Iphone Theft In Burlingame Two Were Arrested After Chase Jeffrey Delaney And Joseph Miranda

Two men were arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of stealing nine iPhones from the Apple store in Burlingame, driving away from authorities and crashing into another vehicle, police said.At about 2:45 p.m., the suspects entered the store at 1301 Burlingame Ave. and cut through security cords in the front of the store to steal the phones from a display shelf, police said. The men then allegedly fled as the store’s alarms sounded.A Burlingame police detective spotted their vehicle several blocks from the store and attempted to stop it, but the suspects entered southbound U.S. Highway 101 from the Broadway on-ramp, police said.The officer abandoned the pursuit, but the suspects were located when their Buick exited the highway in San Mateo and crashed into another vehicle at East Poplar Avenue and North Amphlett Boulevard, according to police.The men then allegedly fled on foot, but were arrested by Burlingame and San Mateo police officers. Police identified the suspects as 20 year-old Jeffrey Spencer Delaney, of Modesto, and 18-year-old Joseph Michael Miranda Jr., of Newark.They were booked into the San Mateo County jail on charges of burglary, evading a peace officer and hit-and-run. There bail was set at $175,000.Police said the stolen iPhones remain outstanding.
