* David Cruz Arrested In Connection To Shooting In Redwood City At Hilton And Cedar Streets

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder for allegedly shooting at two men, wounding one, in Redwood City on Tuesday night, a police sergeant said today.David Cruz was arrested Wednesday afternoon during a traffic stop after authorities identified him earlier in the day as the suspect in the 8 p.m. shooting at the intersection of Hilton and Cedar streets, Redwood City police Sgt. Dan Mulholland said.Cruz allegedly shot a 26-year-old man, who was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, and an 18-year-old man also in the area was shot at but escaped injury, according to Mulholland.It is believed there were two other people with Cruz at the time of the shooting, but they have not been identified, Mulholland said.The area where the shooting occurred is known for gang activity, but police are still investigating a motive for the shooting.Cruz has been booked into San Mateo County jail on suspicion of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
