* Gilroy Gang Related Stabbing Oct 6 On West Ninth Street

Investigators are trying to identify as many as eight teenagers involved in a stabbing in Gilroy Tuesday night that was likely gang-related, Gilroy police said.Officers responded to a report of a stabbing near Monterey and West Ninth streets at about 9:35 p.m. A 27-year-old Gilroy man was found suffering a stab wound to the upper torso.A preliminary investigation revealed that six to eight males between 16 and 18 years old pulled up in a green or dark-colored minivan as the victim walked alone on West Ninth Street. Armed with baseball bats and a knife, the suspects attacked the victim and fled.The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, police said. No arrests were made and police are investigating the attack as gang-related. Anyone with information regarding the attack is asked to contact Gilroy police at (408) 846-0350.
