* Raul Marquez Arrested For Shooting Death Of Lake Calvin At The San Jose Convention Center

San Jose police today arrested a suspect in the Sept. 5 shooting death of 25-year-old San Leandro resident Lake Eric Calvin in the parking lot of the San Jose Convention center, a police spokesman said.Raul Marquez, a 29-year-old Alameda County resident, was arrested without incident for the murder, San Jose police Officer Jermaine Thomas said.Officers found Calvin dead from at least one gunshot wound shortly before 9 p.m. Sept. 5 in the parking lot of the convention center, located at 135 W. San Carlos St.Authorities at the time were investigating whether a shooting victim who showed up at a Fremont hospital that night was linked to the San Jose shooting.Fremont police received a report that a male victim had appeared at Washington Township Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound at about 9:15 p.m. Around that time, Fremont police also heard a broadcast from San Jose police stating that a homicide had occurred in that city.Thomas confirmed tonight that Marquez was the shooting victim who turned up in Fremont. He did not say how Marquez obtained his gunshot wound.Police are not seeking other suspects in the killing of Calvin, Thomas said.San Jose police have said the killing may be connected to a custom car show at the convention center that night. The Monster Energy DUB Show Tour was scheduled at the center Sept. 5, according to the city’s Web site.
