* Carlos Sopelo Tapia Bit in the Head by Robber Armed with a Gun in Castroville

A suspect pointed a handgun at a Watsonville man, bit him in the head and then stole money and other things from him Saturday evening in Castroville, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Two suspects approached the victim, Carlos Sopelo Tapia, as he was sitting in his car at 11329 Del Monte Road in unincorporated Monterey County at about 5:15 p.m.  One of the suspects opened the driver’s door and forcibly climbed on top of Tapia, according to the sheriff’s office.   He then allegedly pointed the black handgun at Tapia and bit him.  The suspect stole Tapia’s wallet, cell phone, keys and about $500.
