Serial rapist Victor Lamar Davis was sentenced in Solano County Superior Court this afternoon to 252 years to life in prison and two consecutive life sentences for sexual assaults in Vacaville and San Anselmo between 2004 and 2007.”Justice was served. He won’t ever see the outside of a prison. The victims feel some justice was done and are very relieved,” Deputy District Attorney Krishna Abrams said this afternoon. Davis, 27, was found guilty in August of 40 of the 53 counts filed against him in connection with the sexual assaults, burglaries, robberies and false imprisonments. The jury found Davis guilty of sexual assaults against five Vacaville women but not guilty of sexual assaults or attempted sexual assaults against three other Vacaville women.Abrams said after the verdicts last month that DNA evidence in those three cases was lacking.”We believe his MO was the same but we understand why it was not proved beyond a reasonable doubt,” Abrams said last month.Davis would enter the victims’ residences, put a pillowcase over their heads and tie up or attempt to bind the women’s hands, Abrams said.In addition to the Vacaville assaults, jurors also convicted Davis of sexually assaulting two women in San Anselmo in Marin County. The charges from both counties were tried in Solano County Superior Court. Davis was sentenced to more than 45 years for the San Anselmo offenses alone. He was found not guilty of robbing another San Anselmo woman, Abrams said. The Marin County cases in 2007 led to Davis’s arrest in San Diego in December 2007. San Rafael police found his vehicle near a Terra Linda apartment where two women were attacked in June 2007. Vacaville and San Rafael police investigated the sexual assaults and identified Davis as the suspect. The charges and special enhancements against Davis included rape, sexual assault, oral copulation, assault with a deadly weapon, digital penetration, false imprisonment, aggravated kidnapping, burglary, sexual battery, criminal threats, robbery and use of a gun. The prosecution alleged some of the sexual assaults happened during the commission of a burglary. Some of the women were raped multiple times, Abrams said. Many of the victims were present when the verdict was read and four of the Vacaville victims spoke at Davis’s sentencing today, Abrams said.Davis’s trial before Solano County Superior Court Judge Donna Stashyn, who sentenced him today, took about two weeks.Davis’s Deputy Public Defender Leslie Caldwell said Davis would exercise his right to appeal, Abrams said. Davis maintained he was innocent. Copyright © 2009 by Bay City News, Inc. — Republication, Rebroadcast or any other Reuse without the express written consent of Bay City News, Inc. is prohibited.

  • I’m so elated this scum will rott in jail for life. It’s just to bad my daughter Jazmin Iris Mitchell has passed away before justice was served for those who suffered at the hands of this monster. He took my daughter on Easter Sunday 2007. She managed to get away from him. But not before he forced her to do dispicable things. I hope his every moment here on earth is filled with misery, until he reaches HELL where he belongs for eternity!
