The California Highway Patrol arrested a San Rafael man this morning for DUI and hit-and-run after a pursuit that ended near Novato City Hall. Danny Boissiere, 44, also was arrested for evading police and for possession of a Ford Explorer that was stolen in Pacifica, CHP Officer Chris Rardin said. A citizen stopped a CHP officer around 10:45 a.m. today on northbound U.S. Highway 101 at the Freitas Parkway bus stop to report a possible drunken driver, Rardin said. The officer tried to stop the Ford Explorer but the driver, later identified as Boissiere, allegedly accelerated northbound on the highway to 90 mph, Rardin said. The driver then made an abrupt turn onto the De Long Avenue off-ramp, Rardin said. The driver drove west on De Long Avenue and collided with a 1998 Jeep Wrangler at the intersection of Reichert Avenue, Rardin said.  The Jeep overturned in the crash injuring the driver, 31-year-old Wendy McCurdy, 41-year-old Jeffrey McCurdy and a 2-year-old child, all of Novato, Rardin said. The driver of the Ford then drove west on Machin Avenue where he collided with a fence in a construction zone in front of Novato City hall, Rardin said. Boissiere allegedly ran from the scene and was captured in the 900 block of Machin Avenue, Rardin said. Novato police are investigating the crash and the CHP is investigating the arrest investigation, Rardin said.
