* Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Deputies Need Help to Identify Assault Suspects From Aptos Safeway Store

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspects in these surveillance photos.  Detective Jalon Harris reports that on August 26th 2009, these suspects allegedly assaulted a victim at the Safeway Store located in Aptos. During the assault, the suspect in the mustache wearing the dark blue hooded sweatshirt, allegedly pulled out a knife and swung it at the victim. The second suspect wearing the white hooded sweatshirt then threw a large heavy case of water bottles at the victim’s head while the victim was on the ground. According to Detective Harris the victim was so seriously injured that he had to be hospitalized.  The suspects are described as Asian males and fled the scene in a late 1990’s or early 2000 grey or tan, 4 door, Toyota or Honda sedan.
