* Man Robs Sam’s Market on Hopper Ave in Santa Rosa

A man robbed a Santa Rosa market at knifepoint on Wednesday night, police said.  Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Sam’s Market at 1020 Hopper Ave. at about 9:30 p.m.  Store employees told police a man wearing a bag and a hood over his head had entered the store, held a knife to the clerk and demanded cash.  After a brief struggle, the suspect ran out of the store with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading west on Hopper Avenue.  No one was injured in the robbery. The suspect was described as a Spanish-speaking man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build.
