Santa Rosa police have arrested a 33-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a woman while she was walking by a creek behind an apartment complex this week. The incident was reported to the Santa Rosa Police Department on Wednesday at 9:56 a.m. The victim was walking behind the Bay Village Circle Apartments on Marlow Road when the suspect, Joshua Harlan, attempted to talk to her, according to police. She ignored him, then Harlan then allegedly grabbed her breast. The victim screamed and Harlan headed toward Piner Road. Detectives from the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Team were notified and are investigating the case. On Friday, at about 4:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Range Avenue regarding a fight. They learned that the victim who was assaulted was moving into the apartment complex that day with her husband. While at the complex, the victim allegedly saw Harlan. She alerted her husband and he confronted Harlan. A fight ensued between the two men and another resident separated them, and officers arrived moments later. Harlan, who lives in Santa Rosa, was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of felony sexual battery.
