* Santa Rosa Women Was Robbed Of Her Purse And Peppered Sprayed At Plaza Parking Lot At Fulton Avenue

Santa Rosa police said a woman was robbed of her purse and sprayed with pepper spray as she sat in her vehicle at the Big Oak Plaza Thursday afternoon.The 45-year-old woman was approached around 1 p.m. by a man in the Plaza parking lot at Fulton Avenue and West Third Street, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said. The man demanded money and the woman declined. The suspect returned a few moments later and said, “Give me your purse or I’ll spray you,” according to Banayat. The woman gave the man her purse but the suspect sprayed what is believed to be pepper spray in the woman’s face and fled, Banayat said. The suspect is a light-skinned possibly Hispanic man, 6 feet with a medium build and a shaved head. He was wearing prescription glasses with black frames, a white T-shirt, jeans and black shoes, Banayat said.Anyone with information is asked to call Santa Rosa police at (707) 543-3600.
