A 37-year-old Oakland woman was fatally shot early this morning, a police spokesman said. At about 12:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of High Street to investigate a report that there was a gunshot victim. Officers found a 38-year-old man who had been shot, police spokesman Jeff Thomason said. The Oakland resident was transported to Highland Hospital and was in critical condition this afternoon. There is evidence that the victim was transporting a man who had been assaulted during a robbery to the hospital at the time he was shot. The robbery occurred at a taco truck located in the 1400 block of 44th Avenue, Thomason said. After shooting the man, the suspects went to the 1400 block of 45th Avenue and shot Adrienne Parker, according to Thomason. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced Parker dead. Oakland homicide investigators responded and began the follow up investigation into the circumstances regarding these shootings.
