Santa Rosa police are investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy Tuesday night. The teen was walking on Hendley Street and was crossing Pressley Street in the South Park area at about 9:20 p.m. when he was shot in the hand, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said. Someone called police to report hearing a male screaming and running east on Pressley Street toward the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Banayat said. Another caller said the shooting victim was at a Chevron gas station at Bennett Valley Road and South E Street. An officer found the teen at the gas station and he was taken to a hospital for treatment, Banayat said. The victim and his friends could not provide a description of the shooter, Banayat said.
