Police are searching for evidence and possible suspects after a wounded man showed up at Redwood City hospital late Sunday night saying he had been shot in East Palo Alto. Officers responded to Kaiser Foundation Hospital at around 11:45 p.m. to investigate a report of a shooting victim, according to the East Palo Alto Police Department. East Palo Alto resident Kenneth Lofton told police he was walking
near the 1300 block of E. Bayshore Boulevard when an occupant of a black-colored sedan, possibly a newer model Chevrolet Malibu, drove by firing random gunshots at pedestrians, one of whom was Lofton. Lofton was shot in the in the right thigh, police reported. There were no reports of other victims. Lofton could not provide a detailed suspect description to investigators. He said an anonymous person drove him to the hospital where the staff contacted police.
