* Napa Police Reopen Case Of Alleged Assault On Raiders Assistant Coach Randy Hanson By Head Coach Tom Cable

The Napa Police Department said this afternoon it has reopened the investigation of an assault at the Oakland Raiders training camp facility in Napa.The assault victim reported on Aug. 6 that he had been assaulted around 10 a.m. the day before by a staff member, police said in a news release. “Upon initial contact, the victim did not want any police action or formal charges filed. The victim refused to identify the responsible or any potential witnesses,” police said.The National Football Post Web site and national media have reported this week that Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson was assaulted by Raiders head coach Tom Cable.”Due to a lack of information, the case was closed,” Napa police said.”Since that time, new information has come to light which has resulted in the investigation being reopened,” police said.The Napa Police Department said it could not release any other
information on the ongoing criminal investigation.
