A 19-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of killing a woman and injuring two others in a stabbing Saturday at the Alum Rock light rail station in San Jose, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.Kristina Harris-Perkins, 19, of Stockton, was stabbed along with two friends during an altercation between two groups at the station at about 10:25 p.m. Harris-Perkins and her friends, a 19-year-old Oakland man and a 16-year-old girl, were taken to Regional Medical Center of San Jose. Harris-Perkins died that night. Her friends were released Tuesday after undergoing surgery. David Pilipina, of San Jose, was arrested at about 4:50 p.m. today at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Monterey Highway, sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sung said. Because investigators suspected he was staying at the apartment with a woman and a baby, detectives set up a perimeter and waited for him to walk out instead of forcibly entering the unit.Sung said Pilipina was arrested following a short foot pursuit. “As soon as he realized there were officers out there to get him, he started taking off on foot,” Sung said. Pilipina was arrested “within a very short time” without further incident, according to Sung.Other people involved in the incident have been identified, but criminal charges have not been brought against them, Sung said.Detectives are still working to determine a motive in the stabbing.Sung said the public and witnesses provided “invaluable” assistance in the investigation. In a telephone interview Wednesday, Harris-Perkins’ father Andre Perkins said his daughter had never been involved in a fight in her life.”She didn’t know how to fight,” Perkins said.”I was so overprotective of her. She wouldn’t hurt a fly.””She’s the nicest person that you’d ever want to meet,” Perkins said. “I remember when she was in the second grade, she got an award for helping people on the playground. She would give anybody anything. She didn’t mind sharing with anybody.”The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the stabbing and urges anyone with information to contact Detective Sgt. Herman Leon or Detective Sgt. Ryan Elder at (408) 808-4500. • to iKNOW truth is YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING. Kristina would not do anything like that she was full of respect. Even if someone did not respect her she still treated them with respect. She was the farthest thing from being what you say “african americans are always trying to prove themselves and be loud, be seen, be heard” the color of her skin had nothing to say about her inside. She was more MEXICAN OR WHITE OR however you want to describe it as. She had no gang affilations and was a very good person. She did not judge no one what-so-ever. SHE KICKED IT WITH MEXICANS THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. I AM MEXICAN and her CLOSEST HOMEGIRL. AND NO i am NOT loud or anything like that. KEEP SPEAKING ON WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW TO DEFEND THOSE COWARDS MOST LIKELY YOU ARE JUST LIKE THEM. COWARDS THAT TAKE A FEMALES LIFE HAVE PU$$YZ WHERE THEIR D*CKZ SHOULD BE.

EVERY guy i know FROM SAN JO icluding every side LOOKS DOWN ON THAT B*TCH MADE FOOL. COWARD COWARD COWARD COWARD runs through the streets!

  • Kristina was a wonderful young woman and there is no way that she would ever push a child. No matter what took place on that train, there is no justification for happened to Kristina and her friends. As for you, IKNOW, you should consider taking your own advice, “people need to learn to keep their mouth closed and eyes open.” Violence is a societal issue much more than it is a racial issue. The problem is when people, like yourself attempt to justify such acts. We all are responsible for what we do. Unfortunately David and the other people involved took a young woman’s life and they should pay with theirs. If they were given life in prison that would be like saying that tax payer’s like myself are responsible for their horrific crime. I’m not going to speculate on what all took place that night, you however talk as if you were. Race aside what was done was wrong and those responsible need to pay their debt.

  • Well the story the D.A. gives and wut is said in the news is all here say. Harris pushed a 2 yr old boy and was harrassing ppl on the light rail that night, did they show that on tape ? no! only wut they want u to see. Harris started the fight and her and her guy friend and other girl that was with her were being loud and rude on the light rail to other ppl. Why dont they come forth?! just like in grade school no one see’s the provoker only the after math. some people need to learn how to keep their mouth closed and eyes open. you never know what type of person you are starting stuff with David was not a saint but he kept to himself unless provoked. not to judge but african americans are always trying to prove themselves and be loud, be seen, be heard, oh and ive had my share of problems with them as well minding my own business but I was taught to walk away in such a situation but sometimes when someone is in your face its very difficult. heres another lil story…one late night my brother Elie and Cousin Joe were at a jack in the box on Alum Rock and Capitol in san jose ordering food from the drive through when all of a sudden they were pulled out of the car by 2 african american males they broke my brothers nose with a gun, and beat my cousin and took his wallet. and yes there is violence in every race just more violence in others it seems. that is my opinion from what ive seen in my lifetime and from experiences.

  • there’s always two sides of a story.yes it is sad that a good person had to’s youngpeople just dont value life all.we need to understand that there is sick people out there

  • I knew this young lady personally Kristina Harris- Perkins was a very good friend of mine and for this to happen to her is horrible. Like her father said she wouldn’t hurt a fly. She was always helpful around school. She didn’t even have to know your name and yet she was always there to help. I hope thos kids that did this to her know that they have it coming.
