* Antioch Suspects Jerode Griffin, 27 And Vincent Johnson Arrested In Connection To Highway Shooting

Two men were arrested Antioch Monday afternoon after an officer said he saw one of them shooting at highway traffic, according to police.An officer reported witnessing a suspect standing along Somersville Road firing a handgun across lanes of traffic on state Highway 4 at around 1:05 p.m., according to the Antioch Police Department. The officer said he witnessed five or six gunshots fired, though it was not clear what was being shot, and no injuries or property damage have yet been reported.The suspected shooter, Concord resident Jerode Griffin, 27, allegedly fled the area in a white sedan driven by 20-year-old Vincent Johnson, of Antioch. The sedan subsequently crashed and the suspects fled on foot, according to police.The two men were located and taken into custody after an extensive police search , and officers reported recovering a firearm from the suspect vehicle.Griffin and Johnson were booked at Martinez jail for shooting into an inhabited dwelling or vehicle. Griffin was also booked for violating parole.
