* Oakland Police Identify Wayne Griffin As The 22-Year-Old Shot To Death 900 Block Of Willow Street

A 22-year-old man was the victim of a fatal shooting in West Oakland on Saturday evening, a police spokesman said. Officers responded to the 900 block of Willow Street at 5:40 p.m., Oakland Police Department spokesman Jeff Thomason said. They found the victim, Oakland resident Wayne Griffin, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Highland Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. Police are still investigating the shooting.Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821.
