Fairfield police are investigating three robberies in the city since Sunday night. A woman was dropping off her friend at the Travis Lodge at 1349 W. Texas St. around 8:15 p.m. Sunday when the friend told the woman she owed her money, Sgt. Dan Pilcher said. The friend grabbed the woman’s wallet and punched her when she tried to get it back, Pilcher said. Police responded and arrested the friend, April Walker, 35, for robbery and a parole violation, Pilcher said. An hour later, a Fairfield man and his wife were sitting on a bench in Dover Park on East Travis Boulevard when five males approached, Pilcher said. One of the males asked the man for a cigarette while another grabbed the woman’s purse, Pilcher said. When the woman chased after the suspects, one turned and flashed a knife, Pilcher said. The five suspects were described as in their late teens or early 20s, Pilcher said. Around 1:20 a.m. today, several male juveniles walked into a 7-Eleven store at 1518 Phoenix Drive while the clerk was in the back room, Pilcher said. When the clerk came out, one of the juveniles grabbed two packs of
cigarettes and pulled a gun when the clerk confronted him, Pilcher said. The juveniles ran out of the store into a nearby apartment complex, Pilcher said. Police located them and the clerk identified a 15-year-old boy as the armed robber, Pilcher said. He was booked into juvenile hall. No one was injured in any of the robberies, Pilcher said.
