A Corte Madera man who was to begin serving a county jail sentence Aug. 6 for lewd acts with a child apparently committed suicide. Eric Paul Friedlander, 50, was found dead in his jeep in the garage of his home at 210 Sausalito St. on Thursday, Twin Cities Police Department Detective Sean Kerr said. The Jeep’s engine was running and the preliminary cause of death is carbon monoxide poisoning, Kerr said.  The Marin County coroner’s office said the time of death was 11:36 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. Twin Cities Police Department Detective Toby Miller said Friedlander was arrested in October on suspicion of committing lewd acts with the 7-year-old daughter of his ex-girlfriend. The girl’s mother was not aware of the lewd acts until her daughter informed her, Miller said.  Friedlander pleaded guilty to two lewd acts charges and was sentenced in Marin County Superior Court to a year in the county jail. He also was required to register as a sex offender.
