The San Jose police SWAT team spent four hours Wednesday night surrounding a house after a woman reported her boyfriend had entered her home with a gun.  The woman called police around 7:35 p.m., saying the man was in her home in the 500 block of Southside Drive, according to Sgt. Ronnie Lopez. She subsequently ran from the house. Within 10 minutes, police had established a perimeter around the property and evacuated the neighbors.  “The suspect could have easily slipped the perimeter,” Lopez said.  After about four hours, police determined that the man was not inside the house. It is not yet clear whether the man will face charges, Lopez said.  While the prospect of spending hours waiting outside an empty house can be frustrating, “you always have to err on the side of caution,” he said.
