An argument between roommates over money led to a stabbing in Santa Rosa Tuesday evening, a Santa Rosa police spokeswoman said. Officers were called to a home in the 900 block of West Eighth Street around 6 p.m., Sgt. Lisa Banayat said. They found a 55-year-old man receiving first aid from neighbors for a wound to the neck. The victim said his roommate, Homer Stewart, 54, had stabbed him with a knife, Banayat said. The two men had gotten into an argument over money, Banayat said. The wound was serious but not life-threatening. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and Stewart was booked into the Sonoma County jail for attempted murder, Banayat said. Another resident was at home at the time of the stabbing but was not involved in the incident, Banayat said.
