San Rafael police are investigating a shooting on busy Medway Road this afternoon. Several people called police around 2:30 p.m. to report a physical fight involving gunshots, police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said. Witnesses said two men were fighting on the sidewalk at 86 Medway Road when a man across the street fired three rounds from a handgun, according to Rohrbacher.  No bystanders were injured and it’s unknown if either of the two fighting men were injured, Rohrbacher said.  The gunman was on the sidewalk near the driveway of an Enterprise car rental at 65 Medway Road but it wasn’t clear if he was firing into the air or at the men who were fighting, Rohrbacher said. All three men ran immediately from the area after the gunfire, police said. The shooter may have been wearing white pants, Rohrbacher said. Police shut down Medway Road for about 90 minutes while investigators searched for evidence and looked for witnesses, Rohrbacher
said. Golden Gate Transit rerouted buses around the scene and the road was reopened at 4 p.m., Rohrbacher said.  Anyone with information is asked to call police at (415) 485-3000 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
