A 16-year-old girl remains in grave condition today after being shot early Saturday morning, according to Oakland police spokesman Jeff
Thomason. Police haven’t arrested anyone in connection with the shooting but they are following up on “very good leads,” Thomason said. He said police officers stopped a car that was driving erratically in the 3400 block of International Boulevard at 1:26 a.m. Saturday. During the investigation officers learned that the 16-year-old girl, who was one of four people in the car, was suffering from a gunshot wound, Thomason said. The girl was then transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where she is suffering from life-threatening injuries, he said. Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the 1600 block of 35th Avenue, about two blocks away from where the car was spotted, according to Thomason.
