A man who authorities say fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself at their home in unincorporated San Pablo early Sunday morning died today at a hospital, a sheriff’s spokesman said. The couple’s 17-year-old son called police around 12:15 a.m. and said his father had pulled a gun on his mother in the 200 block of Heather Drive in the unincorporated Montalvin Manor neighborhood, Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said. When deputies arrived, they found 33-year-old Magaly Iglesias and her 46-year-old husband Jose Benedicto Mejia suffering from gunshot wounds, Lee said.  Iglesias was pronounced dead at the scene, Lee said.  Lee said authorities believe the couple was arguing, and Mejia killed his wife before shooting himself. Authorities are not looking for any other suspects in the case. The 17-year-old boy was not physically injured in the attack and is staying with relatives, Lee said.
