Authorities briefly shut down the interchange between eastbound Interstate Highway 80 and Interstate Highway 580 between Richmond and Albany this morning so that Richmond police could search the area for casings, a California Highway Patrol Officer said. Richmond police requested a traffic break on the freeway at about 4:15 a.m. to investigate a shooting that occurred in the vicinity around 4 a.m., CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said. The area was cleared around 4:50 a.m., Caggiano said, and no casings were located. It was not immediately known if anyone was injured in the shooting, Caggiano said. A blue Toyota Prius was found with bullet holes.
