The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred early this morning in unincorporated San Pablo. Investigators believe a man fatally shot his wife around 12:15 a.m. today after a disagreement inside a home in the 200 block of Heather Drive.  The man then shot himself, sheriff’s Lt. Steve Simpkins said. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Simpkins said both the man and his wife were shot at least twice. They both appeared to be in their 40s. Alcohol may have played a factor, Simpkins said.  The couple’s 17-year-old son was home at the time of the shootings and called the sheriff’s department around 12:30 a.m.
