A group of men in knit hats and sunglasses took a salesman from Florida for $300,000 in jewelry in a robbery in South San Francisco Friday morning, police said. The jewelry salesman had checked out of his hotel and, along with a co-worker, was loading luggage into a car in the 600 block of Gateway Boulevard when three to four men approached the pair, police said. The victim was frightened by the suspects and headed back toward the hotel, police said. One of the suspects then reached into the vehicle and took a case containing the jewelry. The suspects then fled in a white four-door vehicle that appeared to have paper covering its license plate, according to police. The suspects were wearing dark knit caps and sunglasses, according to police. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Police Department at (650) 877-8900.
