A man whose girlfriend was found murdered in the couple’s Antioch home early today was arrested late this morning near Lodi and has confessed to the killing, police said.  Neighbors heard Aaron Caleb Johnson, 45, and his girlfriend, whose name has not been released, arguing Sunday afternoon and evening, Antioch police Lt. Leonard Orman said.  However, it wasn’t until early this morning that police received a call from someone who said Johnson might have killed his girlfriend at their home on 517 W. Sixth St., Orman said. When police went to check on the victim’s welfare, they found her dead in a bedroom.  Orman said police are not releasing the manner of death or the identity of the caller. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.  Early this morning, police said, Johnson told associates he had killed his girlfriend and planned to flee the area and commit suicide.  He was not at the home on Sixth Street when police arrived there this morning, and police suspected he left in the victim’s car, a 1991 Mitsubishi. At 11 a.m. today, police located Johnson at a store on Glasscock Road off of state Highway 12, between Rio Vista and Lodi, and arrested him
without incident on murder charges, police said. The Mitsubishi was recovered at the scene.  Orman said Johnson has confessed to his involvement in the killing.
