Walnut Creek police are investigating the robbery of a Patelco Credit Union near Civic Park in the city this afternoon. The robbery occurred at 12:24 p.m. at the bank located at 1790 N. Broadway, according to police. A man reportedly entered the bank, showed the teller a note saying he was armed with a gun, and received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction, police said. No weapon was seen and no one was injured during the robbery, according to police. The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s who is about 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds with an athletic build and short dark hair, police said. He was wearing a dark green baseball hat with an unknown insignia, aviator-style sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Berkeley” across the front, dark colored sweatpants with a vertical stripe along each leg, and had a dark colored fake goatee.
