Update-Fugitive Watch Producer Steve Ferdin was recently approached by two men in a van at the El Pollo Loco parking lot at Story and White Roads in San Jose trying to sell him stereos.  They were white males in their 30’s.  The van is an older brown panel type van. The van had an Oregon license plate. He called the San Jose police and gave them the information. Original Story-Millbrae police are warning residents in San Mateo County to beware of a scam involving people selling seemingly high-end stolen stereo speakers at a reduced price out of a sport utility vehicle or van. Police said typically about two or three perpetrators approach residents and represent themselves as employees of local stereo stores who are selling products as either stolen merchandise or merchandise that is legitimate at a reduced price. Anyone with information regarding this scam is encouraged to call police at (650) 259-2300.
