* Fairfield Police Arrest 26-Year-Old Lacy Best And Jeremy Laird, 33 In A Stolen Land Cruiser

Two people were arrested in Fairfield Monday morning after they allegedly fled from officers in a stolen car, police said.At around 11:20 a.m., police spotted four people in a Toyota Land Cruiser in a parking lot at 89 Tabor Ave., according to the Fairfield Police Department. The officers determined the car had been stolen and attempted to contact the occupants. Two passengers stepped out of the Land Cruiser when officers approached, but the driver and a third passenger fled in the car.Officers pursued the pair for approximately two miles until the driver crashed into a retaining wall near 100 Tabor Ave. The passenger, 26-year-old Lacy Best, was arrested for resisting arrest, police said.The driver, Jeremy Laird, 33, ran but was arrested after a brief foot chase, police said.Laird was on parole for a previous stolen vehicle conviction and was arrested for violating parole, possession of a stolen vehicle, evading police and possession of drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.
